Garden Intervention in Porto
Intervention in the garden of a 1870 house in Porto. The project was designed in July 2009, with construction concluded in August 2009.
Based on the premises of a preexisting wood deck which covers about one third of the garden area, and the need to create a shelter for various mobile garden components, we created a wall that fits this deck, giving it the character of a resting area, while allowing the visual relationship between building and garden to be enhanced.
This structural wall is the visible side of the new shelter, that extends to the plot's limit wall. Its design intends to visually play with the actual deck, by doubling the design of the flooring. The structure is built with treated pine, also used on the wall cladding. The roof is in zinc panel.
