RG03a
RG03a is a wooden cube designed to conceal a precious object. Each piece is unique being laser engraved with design authorship, production and an individual edition number. The piece takes inspiration from traditional Japanese secret boxes. RG03 is a collection from the architect and designer for SPSS, Portuguese fabricators of furniture and joinery for architects including Álvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto Moura. The original piece, RG03a, is a wooden box (76x 76x 76mm) of wenge comprising four elements, one of them being at the heart of the block holding the precious object which is formed from satinwood.
